Day-Ahead PhD Workshop on Financial Intermediation
to be held at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), London 
organized by the Centre for Banking Research at Bayes in coordination with "New (and Old) Risks to Financial Intermediaries" Conference
September 1, 2023

Submission Deadline: May 15, 2023

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Inflation, rising interest rates and risks to banking sector and the real economy 
  • Fintech: opportunities and challenges to the banking sector
  • Climate change and transition risk: opportunities and challenges to the banking sector 
  • Non-bank financial intermediation

PhD Mentoring
The aim of the workshop is to allow PhD students to present their research and receive feedback from senior researchers. PhD presentations will be discussed by senior mentors. PhD students in the last stages of their PhD studies (e.g., going in the market in the Autumn of 2023) are particularly encouraged to apply. Accommodation expenses of presenting PhD students will be covered. 

Further Information
The deadline for submission is May 15, 2023. PhD papers should be submitted to: bankingcentrewhatever@city.ac.uk. There is no paper submission fee. We aim to notify the authors of accepted papers by June 15, 2023. Presenting authors will be invited to the conference dinner. The format and structure will largely follow last year’s workshop.The PhD Workshop will be followed by a conference on financial intermediation on September 2 at Bayes Business School on "New (and Old) Risks to Financial Intermediaries". Viral Acharya (NYU Stern) will give the Keynote speech.
